About Leo

SmallPortrait

I have been a freelance illustrator for many more years than I care to remember. If ever you see me there will be a good chance you would find me drawing or painting in my sketchbook.

I have drawn children’s books, for magazines, and a graphic novel called Mirabilis. I wear many hats, thinking up ideas, drawing, inking, painting, cutting out, designing books and websites. It’s good fun, but hard work sometimes.

Being a freelance illustrator means that I work for myself, so there the only boss is me, to tell me to get me back to work. I have to say I’m the not the strictest of bosses with myself sometimes, and will decide to take the day off and spend it with the family, or go out for a bike ride.

I am very lucky to work from home in a small building at the top of my garden. It used to an animal shed of some kind and, I converted it, (with help from my brother-in-law, Dirk, and my builder friend, George), into a lovely studio.
